Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday announced that it will provide LPG gas cylinders at a subsidised rate of Rs 450 under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and the Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana from September 1.

The central government on Tuesday slashed the price of a domestic LPG cylinder by ₹ 200. The union government has been facing criticism over rising inflation and its impact on households.

In a major relief to LPG consumers, Public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have slashed the price of 19 KG commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 158, according to the sources.

A cabinet meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was organised at the Chief Minister House in Bhopal on Friday.
