The appetite-regulating hormone ghrelin could be used to treat an advanced form of peripheral artery disease characterised by pain at rest, non-healing ulcers, and gangrene, say researchers, including one of Indian-origin.

Drug major Cipla on Monday said its joint venture firm Stempeutics Research has received a process patent from the Japan Patent Office for novel stem cell drug Stempeucel aimed at treatment of critical limb ischemia (CLI).
