Cyclone Nada weakened into a depression in the Bay of Bengal and made landfall in Puducherry's Karaikal, close to Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu, at about 5 AM on Friday morning. Jayalalithaa hands over houses to tsunami-hit

As part of the government's efforts to provide houses to the tsunami-hit victims, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today handed over 8,251 houses constructed at a cost of Rs 303 crore, to beneficiaries in 11 coastal districts that were affected by the 2004 calamity.
