Coal Strike: Government Offered no Solution, Say Union Leaders

The meeting between the representatives of five trade unions and Coal Secretary Anil Swarup to resolve the coal strike remained inconclusive on Tuesday. At the end of the over-four-hour meeting, the union leaders said the strike will continue on Wednesday - which would be the second day of the five-day strike.

Coal Unions Boycott Government Meet; to go on 5-Day Strike From January 6

Boycotting a meeting convened by the government on Saturday, all major trade unions including BJP-backed BMS gave a go-ahead to coal workers across the country to launch a 5-day strike from Tuesday which may hit the power sector and cause a daily loss of up to Rs 150 crore.
