Cleanest Railway Stations

Bandra Terminus in suburban Mumbai has been adjudged the seventh cleanest railway station in a survey that covered 407 stations across the country.

Rajasthan's Jodhpur and Marwar railway stations have emerged the cleanliest among the major stations in the country in the latest round of cleanliness assessment study.

More than 200 trains are pitted against one another to get top rating as the 'cleanest train' in the fleet of the national transporter, in a first of its kind cleanliness survey of trains undertaken by railways.

The cleanest railway stations in the country are in Gujarat and the dirtiest in Bihar and UP, according to a passenger feedback survey on cleanliness carried out by the Railway Ministry, which says lack of sanitation at stations was the biggest area of concern for commuters.

The survey was conducted in line with the announcement made in the railway Budget 2016-17.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) has already been accorded the status of a heritage structure. But this station is not one to rest on its past laurels.
