Drug major Cipla's subsidiary - Cipla Medpro - has bagged an order worth 2 billion rands (around Rs 1,100 crore) for HIV drugs from the South African government.

Cipla Medpro, the South African subsidiary of the Indian firm, has been awarded a 345 million rand share of the South African government's national respiratory tender, the company said in a statement.

The Patalganga project for the upgradation and scale-up of API facilities is nearing completion. It is anticipated that operations will commence during 2013-14. The company is also scaling up its anti-cancer formulations facility at Goa.
