After nearly five months of unrest following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, there is a new challenge for the security forces in Kashmir: Large crowds attending the funeral of dead terrorists.

A Lashkar-e-Taiba 'ameer' or chief was leading the funeral procession of 22-year-old terrorist Burhan Wani, who was killed in an encounter in Kashmir earlier this month, Jamaat ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed has claimed. His statement comes as a pointer to the Pakistan-based terror group's role in anti-India protests in Kashmir Valley.

Burhan Wani would "have been given a chance" had security forces who shot him been aware of his identity, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti told NDTV today, contradicting earlier details about how the 22-year-old terrorist died.
