A day after the Congress fielded actor Vikram Mastal, best known for playing the role of Lord Hanuman in a TV serial, to take on Shivraj Singh Chouhan on his home turf Budhni in the next month's assembly polls, Kamal Nath said.

Farmers in Budhni and Nasrullaganj areas of Madhya Pradesh's Sehore district were seen beating utensils, as advised by the state agriculture department, to drive away locusts that have attacked standing crops on their farms. Disinfectants were also being sprinkled on trees and crops in these areas.

After the counting of votes, Shivraj Singh Chouhan had stepped down, taking sole responsibility for the party's defeat in the state.

The ruling BJP and the Congress are caught in a close fight in Madhya Pradesh, where Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is seeking a record fourth term, as votes were counted on Tuesday. The numbers have see-sawed between the two parties.
