Blind Walk

Eight visually impaired girls on Sunday walked the ramp in style at a fashion show organised by the Institute of Fashion and Jewellery Design in Rajkot, Gujarat.

On the occasion of World Sight Day on Thursday, Blind Walks were organised in over 200 locations around India and four other countries - Canada, China, Philippines, Sri Lanka.

Those of us who can see, often take our sight for granted. The Blind Walk has been organised in 55 locations in five countries to give sighted people a brief experience of what it is like to not be able to see. The aim - to encourage eye donations.

India's eye donation fortnight ends on Monday, and in a bid to raise awareness about it, a series of 'Blind Walks' was organized in Bangalore during which sighted people could briefly experience what it is not to be able to see.
