Claiming that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) had attacked its ''Parivartan Yatra'' rally in North 24 Parganas district, the BJP's West Bengal unit on Sunday complained to the Election Commission and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing the state police of bias and not providing enough security to the participants.

The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday refused to pass any interim order on a public interest litigation (PIL) praying for its intervention to stop the BJP's ongoing 'Parivartan Yatra' rallies across West Bengal and directed that it will hear the matter on February 11.

The BJP's "Parivartan Yatra" was on Monday temporarily stopped from moving ahead in West Bengal's Murshidabad district as "members of the saffron camp, despite request, took a route that had a few sensitive pockets", a senior police officer said.

The Trinamool Congress and the BJP have been locked in a bitter verbal exchange over the JP Nadda-led party's planned Rath Yatra in Nabadwip in Nadia district of West Bengal. The BJP has now called it a "Parivartan Yatra", and said it is the media that has been calling the event Rath Yatra.
