BJP wants discussion on Lokpal Bill in Rajya Sabha today

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has asked the Opposition to allow Parliament to function in the Budget Session that began on Monday, but the BJP is working to its own plan. On Day 2 of the session, today, it wants Question Hour suspended for a discussion on the Lokpal Bill in the Rajya Sabha.

Lokpal Bill: BJP not content with what's on offer

The government will introduce or table the Lokpal Bill in the Lok Sabha today but the BJP has already given the 70-page bill a poor review. The main opposition party says it will ask for major amendments to the anti-corruption bill. Many of the BJP's objections mirror those that have been flagged repeatedly by activist Anna Hazare.
