Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated a museum in Ranchi in memory of revered tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, popularly known as Dharti Aaba.

Birsa Munda Jayanti: The tribal freedom fighter fired the imagination of the tribals by mobilising them against the British rulers. Birsa Munda Jayanti coincides with Jharkhand Formation Day.

Birsa Munda, freedom fighter in British era, is remembered for bringing a tribal revolution in India. He was born on November 15, 1875 and his birthday is celebrated as Birsa Munda Jayanti.
