The Maharashtra government will get Disha Bill cleared in the next session of the state legislature to provide "big" security cover to women, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has said.

DCW Chief Swati Maliwal on Saturday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding immediate implementation of Disha Bill in the entire country, which mandates disposal of cases of atrocities against women within 21 days and handing out the death penalty.

Women have become increasingly worried about their safety in New Delhi after the gang rape and torture of a young woman aboard a moving bus last December.
