The bandh call given by the BJP and other Opposition parties met with a mixed response with shops and business establishments closed in some parts but normal life was not much affected. Public transport system including autorickshaws were plying in most areas while traders in main squares downed their shutters.

Bharat Bandh supporters pelted stones at buses in two suburban areas of the city, Pune, Nagpur and Thane district and stopped some buses by blocking roads in Satara district of Western Maharashtra as the Bharat Bandh called by NDA to protest the petrol price hike began today.
