Akhilesh Yadav Damaged Bungalow

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav today announced a cash award of Rs 11 lakh to whoever gave the names of those who damaged the bungalow here at 4, Vikramaditya Marg, which was allotted to him when he was chief minister.

Akhilesh Yadav may have to pay up Rs 6 lakh for damage to the official bungalow that he used as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and vacated in June following a Supreme Court order. The amount is nothing compared to Rs 4.67 crore that he allegedly spent in illegal constructions in the house over the years, according to a government report.

The BJP today took a jibe at former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on the government bungalow he recently vacated in Lucknow by asking him why did he damage the walls of the house.

Akhilesh Yadav, accused of leaving his government bungalow damaged and missing some objects, today walked into a hurriedly-called press conference carrying two taps. "If the government can prove I took out taps from the bathroom, I am willing to replace them," said the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
