Whistleblower bureaucrat Sanjiv Chaturvedi, who was removed as the chief vigilance officer (CVO) of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in 2014 much before the completion of his tenure, has written to the cabinet secretary PK Sinha over allocation of work.

In an embarrassment to the Centre, a parliamentary panel has pulled up the government over its failure to combat corruption in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), in a report that has many BJP lawmakers as signatories as well.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Friday termed the controversy surrounding the removal of AIIMS Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) Sanjeev Chaturvedi as a "fine farce", and defended the government decision saying the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had rejected his name twice and his continuation as CVO was irregular and indefensible.
