Madurai Kamaraj University to sign Memorandum of Understanding with India Post

Madurai: Madurai Kamaraj University is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with India Post for the sale at post offices of its applications for the courses offered by it through Distance Education Programme.

India Post had been chosen in view of the vast network provided by it reaching nook and corner, said A Thanikodi, Director of the Distance Education Programme. However the proposal had to be approved by the University Syndicate.

As of now, applications for the Madurai Kamaraj University Distance Education Programme were being sold through the Study Centres. In view of the complaints against some of the Study Centres, it would be advantageous for both the Madurai Kamaraj University and the students to receive the applications through post offices, Thanikodi said.

The Postal Department had also offered to deliver study materials, Thanikodi added.
