Baghdatis opens with win over Cilic

Mason, Ohio: Marcos Baghdatis beat 11th-seeded Marin Cilic 6-4, 7-5 in the first match of the $2.4 million Cincinnati Masters on Sunday night.

The 13th-ranked Cilic committed 22 unforced errors while losing for the first time in three matches against the 20th-ranked Baghdatis, who made just 14 errors.

Baghdatis clinched the win with an ace on match point after breaking Cilic to serve for the match.
