The MTV Movie Awards saw the best of Hollywood and music world stepping out in their best of attires. But the night truly belonged to Oscar winners Sandra Bullock and Tom Cruise.

Sandra Bullock was kissing and telling at the MTV Movie Awards.
Bullock, wearing a glittery black dress, received a standing ovation as she accepted the MTV Generation Award in her first live televised appearance since she split with unfaithful husband Jesse James earlier this year. The 45-year-old actress used her acceptance speech to clear up tabloid rumors — "No. 1: I'm not dead." — and smooch Scarlett Johansson.

Bullock was fresh off her surprise appearance Saturday night at Spike TV's "Guys Choice" event in Culver City, Calif., but that show won't be broadcast until June 20. She also received a standing ovation there when she accepted the "Troops Choice" award for entertainer of the year, voted on by members of the military and presented by Robert Downey, Jr.

Actor Tom Cruise left audiences gasping for breath when he performed a hilarious item with singer Jennifer Lopez at the MTV movie awards function.

The actor, who played the fat, balding and foul-mouthed Hollywood producer Len Grossman in Tropic Thunder, came on stage dressed like the character. Both he and Lopez were seen bumping and grinding their way across the stage while performing their act.
At one point Lopez spanked Cruise, but ticked him off when he attempted to return the favour.
The hilarious act ended with Cruise making a valiant attempt at doing the splits, which he only half-completed.
