Dev and Freida have never been open about their relationship.
Dev has recently said that he isn't comfortable talking about his relationship yet.
The 20-year-old actor has dismissed rumours that he's engaged to Freida.
But the presence of Freida at the premiere had everyone talking.
Dev has said his mother was upset when she read online that Dev had got engaged to Freida. He had to then convince her that the reports were incorrect.
"I was like, Mum, 'I didn't (get engaged) trust me,'. Nothing's happened. Everything is fine. I'm just shooting a film," People.com quoted Patel as saying.
"She (Pinto) is very inspiring to me and just great support. She's a great friend and amazing," he said.
According to reports, Patel has been dating Pinto since they met on the sets of Slumdog Millionaire in 2008.
