Starting from the 2024-25 academic session, CBSE has introduced a 'Relative Grading' system aimed at reducing academic pressure and unhealthy competition.

Unlike the traditional method, where grades were assigned based on fixed mark ranges (e.g., 91-100 for A1, 81-90 for A2), the new system evaluates students relative to their peers. Grades are now determined by a student's performance within a specific group, which may vary by subject depending on the number of students who pass it.

This year, more than 42 lakh students appeared for the exams conducted between February 15 and April 4. The Class 10 exams concluded on March 18, while the Class 12 exams ended on April 4.

Speculation about the declaration date of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 and 12 results is circulating on social media, amid a flurry of fake letters and widely shared claims. The official date and time of the result announcement will be published soon on the board's website, cbse.gov.in. Here's where and how to check the results once they are released.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not yet released the Class 10 and 12 results and is yet to announce the result release date. The results are expected to be declared next week. The date and time of the result declaration will be shared soon on the board's official website - cbse.gov.in. Once released, students will be able to check their marks on the result portals - cbseresults.nic.in and results.cbse.nic.in.

After receiving your Class 10 or 12 results, you may apply for migration to a different education board.

Students are required to achieve a pass rate of  33 per cent in Class 10 and 12 examinations to get their certificate.

Last year, girls outperformed boys by a margin of  6.40 per cent. This consistent trend of higher pass percentage has been observed for the past five year and is expected to continue.

The CBSE uses a 9-point grading system to assess students, ranging from A1 (highest) to E2 (lowest), with A1 indicating outstanding performance.

This year, CBSE will not be awarding first, second and third positions to students in order to avoid unhealthy competition. No merit list will be released by CBSE this year, as per the boards' release.

Students will need to pay a fee of Rs.500 to 700 to have a copy of their answer sheet available to them. 

In the last two years, CBSE declared its result in the second week of May. For 2024, CBSE declared the results on May 13 and on May 12 in 2023. Here is list of result declaration date from 2019 to 2022.

CBSE HQ on twitter recently posted that there is a fake document circulating stating that "half of the students' result will be result on 14th may,2025". CBSE has claimed that the document is fake and the statements written in the document are not to be trusted.

CBSE is yet to announce the results of Class10th, 12th board examinations. Students will be able to check their results on CBSE's official website cbse.results.nic.in, when declared.

The Central Board of Secondary Education is yet to announce the date for declaration of the Class 10th, 12th board results. But, last year, the board results were declared on 13th May,2024. It can be anticipated that the results for board exams 2025 will be declared in the second week of May,2025.

CBSE offers supplementary exams for students who fail to secure minimum passing marks in one subject. However, if a student fails in two or more subjects, they'll have to reappear for the entire board exam the following year. This provision allows students to clear their failed subjects without having to repeat the entire exam, promoting academic progress and flexibility.

The DigiLocker Access Code is a unique 6-digit security PIN issued by CBSE to ensure only authorised individuals can view and download students’ academic records. This PIN is part of the Parinam Manjusha platform — CBSE’s official digital academic repository — developed in partnership with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD). It helps maintain the confidentiality and security of marksheets and certificates shared via DigiLocker.

After the CBSE result, one can apply for revaluation or photocopy of answer sheet, for which a fee (around Rs. 500-700) has to be paid by the students.

CBSE Class 10th pass percentages have remained more than 90 over the years, 93.60% in 2024, 93.12% in 2023, 94.40% in 2022, and a record 99.04% in 2021 . 

If a student fails in two subjects in CBSE Class 12th board exams, they can reappear for the compartment exam and do not need to repeat the class. But, if the student fails in more than two exams, they may be required to repeat the class.

Students failing in up to two subjects in Class 10 can take compartment exams in July or August. A minimum of 33% in each subject is necessary to pass.
