- BJP launches one-month Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to mark 25 years of Modi in office
- Campaign includes service activities and honours Anganwadi workers nationwide
- Seva Mein Mera Yogdan program encourages youth to engage in public service acts
The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced a one-month-long nationwide campaign called 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' to mark the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in public office as head of a government. It is 25 years of PM Modi taking oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and later as the Prime Minister of India.
The announcement was made after several deliberations held at the BJP party headquarters with newly inducted national office-bearers, state presidents, the organisation's general secretaries and party leaders.
"Every year, BJP organises 'Seva Pakhwada' in the country on the prime minister's birthday. This year 7 October marks 25 years since Narendra Modi took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. BJP has decided to launch a one-month-long 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan'," said BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde.
The BJP will undertake service-orientated activities in the entire country during this campaign, including outreach programs featuring Anganwadi workers.
"Anganwadi workers will be honoured and discussed for their very significant role in ensuring that nutrition reaches children and welfare programs of the government reach families at the grassroots level," Tawde said.
The BJP is also trying to convert this occasion into a mass mobilisation campaign through a program called 'Seva Mein Mera Yogdan.'
During this program, BJP will appeal to the people, especially the youth, to indulge in acts of public service such as cleanliness drives, plantation and welfare programs and share the same on social media platforms.
"We will appeal to the youth and general public to contribute through acts of service. This will inspire others and help in further public participation," Tawde said.
While the day began with the first meeting of BJP president Nitin Nabin's new national team, the second round of deliberations is centered around the 'Modi@25' campaign which will mark 25 years of PM Modi's continuous service in the executive offices.
State presidents and office bearers from across the country attended the deliberations to plan the course of events for the coming months.
Nabin and PM Modi met the new BJP office bearers at the party headquarters.
BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B L Santhosh also attended the deliberations
BJP Resolves To Highlight Vande Mataram
BJP has also passed a political resolution strongly condemning the decision of the Congress Working Committee of reaffirming the 1937 position of singing only first two stanzas of Vande Mataram in Congress programmes.
The resolution stated that Vande Mataram is the national song of India, symbolising the Indian freedom struggle and national consciousness. BJP will oppose any dilution in its stature and will launch a nation-wide awareness campaign to highlight its historical significance and its role in India's freedom struggle.
The resolution emphasised that the future outreach will focus specifically on informing the coming generation about the song and its relevance in Indian freedom struggle.
