"My political experience was zero. I have learnt that people's love is above everything. I have also developed a foresight on what should I do in the next five years," said BJP candidate Maithili Thakur. 

The poll of exit polls has painted a particularly dismal picture of the performance of the opposition Grand Alliance, giving it far less than the 110 seats it won in 2020.

"Everything boils down to caste in Bihar. NDA already has a clear edge. If we just add up the castes supporting NDA parties, there social metrics is far bigger than the Mahagathbandhan," said Rajan Pandey, Director, Peoples Pulse.

"All these years media made Prashant Kishor believe that he wins elections for other parties. So he thought that he could win an election for himself as well," said Kanchan Gupta, senior advisor, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Another exit poll, TIF Research, has predicted that the NDA will again form government in Bihar with around 145-163 seats. It has predicted 76-95 seats for Mahagathbandhan and zero for Jan Suraaj.

"Lalu Prasad is both Tejashwi Yadav's strength and weakness and therefore he has failed to create a Tejashwi votebank," said political analyst Tehseen Poonawala on the RJD leader's performance.

"The traction that Tejashwi Yadav had with the youth in 2020 is not there this time," said Dr Rajan Pandey, Director, People' Pulse.

Another exit poll, DV Research, has predicted a clear victory for NDA with 137-152 seats, 83-98 seats for Mahagathbandhan and teo to four for Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj.

"I can't believe this. So does that mean that Yadav and Muslim women voted for Nitish Kumar. It's not possible," said senior journalist Prabhu Chawla on Matrize's data on who the Bihar women voted for.

According to Matrize data, 65 percent women voters voted for NDA while 27 percent of them voted for the mahagathbandhan.

The BJP and the JDU (and their smaller allies, including Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party) will record a comfortable win in the Bihar election, picking up between 133 and 167 seats, a poll of exit polls predicted Tuesday evening.

"In Bihar, nobody gets tired of Nitish Kumar even when there is a huge turnout," said senior journalist Vir Sanghvi.

Another exit poll, Chanakya Strategies, has predicted a victory for NDA with 130-138 seats. It has given 100-108 seats for Mahagathbandhan and predicted zero seats for Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj.

"It's the poorest state in India and people are still happy with the government," said author and columnist Chetan Bhagat on exit poll prediction for Bihar.

P-Marq has predicted 142-162 seats for the NDA in Bihar, followed by 80-98 seats for Mahagathbandhan and 1-4 seats for Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj.

Another exit poll, JVC has predicted victory for NDA in Bihar with 135-150 seats.

"It means that the Chirag Paswan-Nitish Kumar-BJP combine has worked perfectly if these figures turn out to be true," said Ashok Malik, Partner and India Chair, The Asia Group.

Four exit polls - Dainik Bhaskar, Matrize, People's Insight and Peoples Pulse - have predicted that Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj may fail to win even a single seat in the Bihar assembly elections.

All the exit polls have predicted somewhere between 0 to 5 seats for the party.

Dainik Bhaskar has predicted around 73-91 seats for Mahagathbandhan, Matrize has given it 70-90 seats. Per People's Insight, it will get around 87-102 seats while Peoples Pulse has predicted 75-101 seats.

Another exit poll, People's Insight have also given a clear majority to the ruling NDA, predicting aroung 133-148 seats.

Peoples Pulse have predicted 133-159 seats to NDA while Matrize have predicted 147-167 seats for it.

EVMs and VVPAT machines in Mohania are being sealed as the voting for the second and final phase concludes.

The Election Commission said that women actively participated in the second phase of voting in Bihar.

Phase 2 of assembly polls in Bihar today saw the highest ever turnout, with over 60% voting till 5.30 pm. Voting is being held on 122 seats, from where a chunk of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's cabinet is seeking re-election. Exit polls are due soon.

Voter enthusiasm continued to mark the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections, with a historic 67.14% turnout recorded across the constituencies until 5 pm.

Mahagathbandhan's Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav said his "heart is filled with joy" with the "reports of bumper voting" in the Bihar assembly election. 

"My heart is filled with joy; my Bihar has truly worked wonders. Reports of bumper voting are coming in from everywhere. The elderly, women, youth, traders, farmers, every caste, every class is enthusiastically ensuring their participation in this grand festival of democracy. May this momentum not stop, may these steps not halt," he said in a post on X.

Congress leader Ashok Gehlot said, "They (NDA) distributed Rs 10,000 to every woman. We expect the women will vote fairly. We had never heard that money is distributed during the model code of conduct phase."

A 100-year-old voter cast her vote at the polling booth in Madhubani district.

Amid a high voter turnout in the second phase of the polling in Bihar assembly elections, a few tragic incidents were reported from different parts of the state.

In Arwal district, a presiding officer died on duty. The officer, Arvind Kumar, posted at polling booth number 189 is Maneri Bigha under the Arwal assembly constituency, suddenly fell ill during polling.

Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win "around 80 out of 122 seats".

"There was 65% of voting in the first phase of the elections, and we are hopeful that in the second phase too, the voting will not be less than around 65-66%. Around 80 out of 122 seats, NDA candidates will win," Manjhi said.

Massive turnout with long queues were reported in Bihar's Kishanganj. In the seat, Sweety Singh of the BJP is up against Qamrul Hoda.

BJP Lok Sabha MP Radha Mohan Singh has said that the NDA will win by record votes in Motihari assembly seat. He also claimed that Tejashwi Yadav will not form a government "in this universe".

"That may happen in Nepal or China, but he will not be able to form a government in any Indian state," he said.

Bihar is voting in the second phase for 122 of its 243 assembly seats. Of these, the BJP had secured a win on 42 seats in 2020, while the RJD bagged 33 seats, the Janata Dal (United) 20 seats, the Congress 11 and the Left parties collectively secured five.

JD leader and INDIA bloc's chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav said that people have given a direct message through "record voting" that they want "result" and not "jumla
".

He also claimed the administration may slow down the pace og the polls at some places, urging voters not to leave the queues without casting their vote.

Bihar recorded 60.40 percent polling for phase 2 till 3 pm. In phase 1, the polling percentage till 3 pm was 53.77 per cent.

A clash took place near a polling booth in Warisaliganj area in Bihar's Nawada district between supporters of different parties. A video allegedly showing the clash has gone viral on social media.
