Ever since Dhurandhar hit the big screens in December 2025, social media hasn't stopped drawing comparisons between Pakistani politician Nabil Gabol and the character Jameel Jamali.

The role played by Rakesh Bedi in Aditya Dhar's action-packed franchise has sparked a wave of memes, jokes, and curious discussions across the internet.

While many would shy away from such unexpected fame, Nabil Gabol has leaned right into it with style.

Recently, he took to Instagram and gave fans a moment they didn't know they needed. Sitting against a picturesque backdrop, he recited lines that instantly struck a chord: "Dil pe zakhm khate hain jaan se guzarte hain, jurm sirf itna hai unko pyar karte hain."

And just like that, the politician turned poetic.

The video then flows into the soulful track Jaan Se Guzarte Hain from Dhurandhar 2, adding an almost cinematic touch to the whole moment.

Interestingly, the song itself has a legacy. The lines trace back to Dil Pe Zakhm Khate Hain, originally released in 1977. The modern version in Dhurandhar 2, composed by Shashwat Sachdev, draws inspiration from the legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. And that influence shows.

The qawwali, rich in Urdu poetry, speaks of deep emotional wounds and intense love.

No wonder it's resonating.

Nabil Gabol Says 'I Love You' To Rakesh Bedi

In a recent interview with content creator Navin Giri, Nabil Gabol said, "Rakesh Bedi is an actor. He is an artist. I want to tell him that we may look similar. Humara dil, humari khoon, humara chehra sabka ek jaisa hain. Main personal nahi hona chahta hoon unke saath (Our hearts, our blood, our faces might look similar. I don't want to get personal with him)!"

For the uninitiated, social media buzz suggests that Rakesh Bedi's character is inspired by Nabil Gabol.

When Nabil Gabol Slammed Dhurandhar

When Dhurandhar released last December, Nabil Gabol expressed dissatisfaction over the film's narrative and character portrayals.

"Jo mera role dikhaya gaya hai, mera role bahut dabbang tha, or dabbang iss tareeke se tha ki inhone mere role ko sahi tareeke se nahi dikhaya (I was very audacious. But they haven't shown me the way I was)," he said.
