Kutty Srank (Boat Captain) is about a mariner whooperates a cargo vessel between the sea port of Kodungalloornear Kochi, once roaring port towns in Kerala. The story istold from the perspectives of three different women after thedeath of the protagonist, who each experience a differentKutty Srank.
The film won the National award for Audiography alongwith
Kaminey and
3 Idiots, shared music direction awardwith Amit Trivedi (
Dev D) and special jury award with
Kaminey and
Kutty Srank.

Natrang whichbagged the best film in Marathi said, "I am very happy that mythree-year efforts have been recognised. It is a great momentin my life and celebration of Marathi cinema."
