Who doesn't get starstruck by Shah Rukh Khan? TV actress Hina Khan and Abhinav Shukla are no exceptions. They recently recalled their first meetings with the King of Bollywood and shared how warmly Shah Rukh met and interacted with them despite being tired.
Hina spoke about the time she met Shah Rukh when she was new to the industry. Talking to Rocky Jaiswal, Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla for their podcast POV, she said, “The first time I met SRK, we were on the same flight. It had been a year and a half since my show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai had started. I was very new in the industry. I saw him sitting next to me.” She took a deep breath and saw again that he was sleeping. “I couldn't believe it. I was anxious to get a photo, but he wasn't awake. Somehow, he woke up for coffee,” she continued.
While SRK promised to get a picture clicked with Hina, he was so exhausted that he dozed off, but later made sure that he posed for a snap with her.
Sharing the anecdote, she said, “I waved a hi to him and asked if I could get a picture. He said, ‘Wait, I'll give you a photo.' He had his coffee and went back to sleep. I kept waiting.”
Once they touched down, Hina felt she had missed the chance, but she said, “SRK got up, called me, and clicked a picture. We were also in the same coach later. He went to the last seat and slept. He was promoting some film at the time and hadn't slept for days.”
Actor Abhinav Shukla also recalled his first meeting with the superstar. He spoke about how the actor shook hands with him. “My first meeting with SRK was when I was fresh off the boat from Punjab and modelling in Mumbai. We were doing a ramp show for a watch brand, and we were backstage,” says Abhinav.
He saw SRK enter; it was the first time he saw him. Abhinav decided to go and shake his hand. “SRK was talking to his manager, then he looked at me, got up, and shook my hand. That defines the character of that man,” Abhinav asserts.
Hina Khan was last seen on television in Pati Patni Aur Panga, alongside her husband, Rocky Jaiswal. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is looking forward to his upcoming action-thriller King, set for theatrical release on December 24 this year.
