- Ajith Kumar crashed during a European endurance racing event but was unhurt
- The crash involved Ajith's car losing control and hitting another vehicle
- He has competed internationally in events like Formula Asia BMW and GT4 Series
Ajith Kumar's love for motorsport is well known, but his latest racing outing took a scary turn. The actor, who has been actively participating in high-speed racing events, was involved in a car crash during a race in Europe. However, he escaped the incident unhurt.
The incident reportedly occurred during Ajith Kumar's participation in endurance racing championships such as the Asian Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup.
As per a Filmibeat report, the actor's car lost control during the competition and crashed into another vehicle. The race was further complicated by technical difficulties faced by the teams, including wheel-related issues. Despite the impact, Ajith remained safe and did not suffer any major injuries.
Ajith Kumar has had his share of close calls on the racetrack over the years. In 2025, his racing car crashed during the GT4 European Series in Italy. However, the actor walked away without injuries. Earlier that year, he was also involved in a dramatic double-rollover crash during the Porsche Sprint Challenge in Valencia, Spain, but emerged unharmed. Before that, Ajith had another narrow escape when his Porsche crashed during a practice session for the 24H Dubai endurance race.
For the unversed, Ajith is one of the few Indian actors to have pursued motorsport at an international level and competed in Formula championships. He participated in the 2003 Formula Asia BMW Championships and has since raced in events such as the Creventic 24H Series and the GT4 European Series.
Last year, Ajith opened up about his approach to motorsport and how he deals with the aftermath of an accident.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actor said, "When I crash, I try to understand if I have been hurt. That's my immediate response. How bad am I hurt, how bad the car is, and if I can restart. Once you make sure you are okay and the car is okay, your adrenaline kicks in. The only thought is not wanting a DNF. I just think, ‘I want to finish (the race) today.' You are worried for your family. It's not fair on our part to be putting them through so much stress. Unfortunately, I have had some terrible crashes, but so have other drivers. It's just that I am an actor, so it makes headlines.”
On the acting front, Ajith Kumar will next be seen in Daredevil, which will be directed by Adhik Ravichandran.
