In the 2014 general elections, Congress's Rajeev Satav was elected from Hingoli Lok Sabha constituency with a slender margin of 1,632 votes. Mr Satav had polled 4,67,397 votes while his nearest rival Subhash Bapurao Wankhede of the Shiv Sena secured 4,65,765 votes.
This time the Congress has fielded Mr Wankhede, who lost the elections in 2014. He will lock horns with Shiv Sena's Hemant Patil, a sitting MLA from Nanded South. Mr Wankhede joined the Congress party recently.
The Lok Sabha constituency has 15,86,194 voters, including 8,39,540 males and 7,46,645 females.
According to the data released by Election Commission of India, as many as six Subhash Wankhedes are contesting from the Hingoli Lok Sabha segement, which is situated in Maharashtra's Marathwada region. Except the Congress candidate, rest of the Subhash Wankhedes are independent candidates.
