UP elections 2022 will be held in seven phases starting February 10. The Election commission announced the Uttar Pradesh election dates in January and the majority of the phases will be in February, despite the number of Covid cases rising in several parts of the country.
According to the Uttar Pradesh election schedule, the polling dates will be February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27, March 3 and 7. The UP election result date is March 10, the Election Commission has announced.
All political parties have already started their big election push for the UP elections with star campaigners drawing huge crowds at various rallies. The elections will be contested in 403 assembly constituencies.
The UP Elections are being seen as a major indicator of national mood ahead of the next general elections in 2024. Congress party won just seven seats in the last state polls as it has struggled to gain traction since the BJP come to power in 2014.
In 2017, UP election result saw BJP win 312 seats, an increase of 265 seats from the pervious polls.
Along with Uttar Pradesh, assembly elections are set to be held in four other states - Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur. The counting of votes for all five states will be held on March 10. Click Here Trigger
