Universities Can Apply Here To Get Approval For Conducting Online, Distance Learning Courses

New Delhi:

 The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released a notification for central, state and state private universities for the grant of No Objection Certificate (NOC) for running Online and Open and Distance Learning Courses. The notification has been released for universities who had applied to the University Grants Commission (UGC) for recognition to offer these courses. 

The notification is also for universities that want to obtain the No Objection Certificate from the technical body for offering technical programmes and courses. 

The official notification reads, "Universities (central, state and state private) who have applied to UGC as per Regulation 3(A) and Regulation 3(B)(b) of UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020 and its amendment for recognition to offer programmes under Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and Online mode for the academic year 2023-24 to run ODL/OL online courses and want to obtain NOC from AICTE to run technical programmes/courses, may apply on AICTE's portal by paying the necessary TER charges."

The institutes interested can apply on the official website of the advisory body to obtain the No Objection Certificate. The candidates will be required to pay the necessary TER charges. 

It further adds that the new higher education institutions who would be applying on the technical body's portal for the first time will be able to apply only through 'National Single Window System (NSWS)' portal.

The candidates can submit the online applications for obtaining the No Objection Certificate for the session 2023-24 academic session by October 31, 2023. The forms can be submitted on the official website of AICTE. The academic session for the new academic year will begin in February, 2024.
