Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd achieved a milestone in Q4 FY26, delivering 201,368 units across domestic and international markets, up 37 per cent from 146,999 units in the prior year's quarter. This marked the company's highest quarterly sales ever, pushing full-year volumes to a record 641,587 units, a 15 per cent rise over FY25's 556,263 units.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales registered at 198,743 units for the quarter, reflecting 36 per cent growth year-on-year, while international figures reached 2,625 units, surging 201 per cent.

Electric vehicle performance stood out, with 26,931 units sold in Q4, a 69 per cent jump and annual EV sales hitting 92,120 units, up 43 per cent. In March alone, total PV sales climbed 29 per cent to 66,971 units, including 9,494 EVs that grew 77 per cent.

Shailesh Chandra, MD and CEO, highlighted FY26 as a landmark year, with Tata securing second place in H2 industry rankings via Vahan data. CNG sales exceeded 1.7 lakh units, up 24 per cent, while EVs crossed 92,000 units amid broader adoption.

Models like Nexon and Punch topped SUV sales in H2, bolstered by launches such as Sierra, refreshed Punch, and petrol Harrier/Safari.

The PV sector hit a record 4.7 million units for FY26, up 8 per cent, fueled by GST 2.0, festive demand, and shifts to CNG (20 per cent growth) and EVs past 200,000 units. Tata outperformed with its multi-powertrain focus and South Africa re-entry, driving over 10,000 international units. Chandra anticipates sustained SUV, CNG, and EV momentum into FY27, despite geopolitical supply risks.
