Chery, the Chinese automaker, has filed a design patent for its Tiggo 8 SUV in India, hinting at an imminent entry into the market. Although the brand hasn't officially revealed its India plans, the patent filing suggests that a launch could be on the horizon. As China's fourth-largest carmaker, Chery is now preparing to introduce the Tiggo 8, and here's what to expect from the upcoming SUV.

The design patent reveals that the Chery Tiggo 8 will retain he design from its international specs model. The images reveal that it will get an octagonal grille design, complemented by sharp LED headlight, with integrated LED DRLs. The patent images and the outgoing model on sale internationally also claim that it has a gentle sloping roofline, 19-inch wheels, squared wheel arches, flush body-coloured door handles, and more. The Chery Tiggo 8 measures 4.7 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 2.7 meters.

On the inside, the Chery Tiggo 8 sold in the international market is equipped with features like a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a 12-speaker sound system, wireless charging, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, and more. Also, it gets nine airbags and an ADAS suite with 19 functions.

Under the hood, the Chery Tiggo 8 gets a 2.0-liter TGDI petrol engine, which is capable of delivering a peak power and torque output of up to 245 hp and 390 Nm, respectively. The power house works jointly with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and a ZF 4-wheel drive system.
