Millionaire's daughter found guilty in London riots
London: A millionaire's daughter was today convicted of burglary during last August's riots in London, where she helped looters steal goods by driving them around the city.

Laura Johnson, 20, whose father runs a marketing company, will be sentenced on May 3.

Described as intelligent and well-educated, Johnson drove the balaclava-clad group around the city and allowed them to put stolen goods from an electronics store in her car.

Johnson was convicted of burglary and handling a stolen television, but cleared of a second count of burglary, involving the theft of cigarettes and alcohol from a petrol station.

Figures released by the Ministry of Justice show that till February 1 this year, the number of suspects arrested in connection with the riots was 2710, of whom 89 per cent were male.

24 of the suspects arrested in London and other cities of England were of Indian origin, the figures show. The riots were sparked by the police killing 29-year-old Mark Duggan.
