Health Minister Dr Anbumani Ramadoss has accused the tobacco industry of misleading the public. Speaking to NDTV, he insisted most people support the ban. "Everybody knows about the tobacco lobby very strong here in India... they have been trying to spread messages saying that it is inspector raj," the minister said.
