Despite emotional announcements by Jet of reinstating retrenched employees in the face of various pressures, the threat of lay-offs and other factors loom large in the aviation industry. Aviation training academies have been going great guns from 2003, with the entry of a number of low cost airlines but five years down the line they may have hit an airpocket.
