India to overtake China as fastest growing economy

India's newly appointed chief economic advisor and renowned economist Kaushik Basu says India will overtake China in terms of growth in the next 4-5 years. In his first exclusive interaction after taking over, Basu tells NDTV that India 10% growth is within reach. Basu has taken a two-year break from his academic career at Cornell University to advise the government on economic matters, making him the latest high-profile outsider to join the government, after Nandan Nilekani and Sam Pitroda.
