It though took a couple of sixes from 'pacifier' Darren Sammy to ensure a win for Hyderabad as they faltered badly mid-innings. (BCCI Image)
  • Brilliant all-round bowling performance by Sunrisers Hyderabad kept Kolkata Knight Riders in check as the visiting side managed just 130/7 in the last league game of the Indian Premier League 2013. (BCCI Image)
  • Dale Steyn (2/24), Amit Mishra (1/20) and Karan Sharma (1/15) were the pick of the bowlers while Anand Rajan (1/22) and Thisara Perera (1/33) ably supported them. Only Yusuf Pathan with 49* off 29 balls could muster up an innings of courage against a fine bowling attack. (BCCI Image)
  • Thisara Perera accounted for Bisla in his first over of the game. Skipper Cameron White completed an easy catch to send him back for 15 off 18 balls.
It was then up to the experienced Gambhir and Jacques Kallis to guide the team forward but the former was dismissed via a comedy of errors in the middle. The Indian opener wanted a run but Kallis refused. It was too late for Gambhir to turn back, being dismissed run-out for a 17-ball 10. (BCCI Image)
  • Eoin Morgan, who had started off with a smashing reverse sweep four, was the next to go as leggie Karan Sharma trapped him right in front. He scored 9. (BCCI Image)
  • Yusuf Pathan then joined Kallis and immediately looked in his elements with a smashing boundaries off Perera and Sharma. Kallis, who had batted steadily, was then accounted for by country-mate Dale Steyn for 24 off 29 balls. He flicked the ball towards deep square-leg but a bit of leading edge handed Shikhar Dhawan the easiest of catches. (BCCI Image)
  • Hyderabad then continued to pile on the pressure as Amit Mishra bamboozled Ryan ten Doeschate with a wrong one. The Netherlands' batsman scored just 1 off 5 balls before his leg before wicket dismissal. (BCCI Image)
  • For Sunrisers, Patel top-scored with 47 off 37 while Dhawan got 42 off 35. Kolkata bowlers tried their level best but a the target was too less to defend. (BCCI Image)
  • The home team though, did make heavy weather of what looked a simple chase at one stage at 89/0 with Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv Patel going great guns. They then lost 4 wickets within 19 runs as Kolkata bowlers fought back. (BCCI Image)
  • Shikhar Dhawan was absolutely on top of his game, quite literally (as seen in the image). (BCCI Image)
  • Iqbal Abdulla was brilliant taking 3/29 as Hyderabad slumped badly mid-way. (BCCI Image)
