If you turn back to history you will find many famous names in the network of party drugs. Be it Mike Tyson to Diego Maradona or even 18 times Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps. Even they could not escape the drug maze...
Mike Tyson gave up once in 1990 against Buster Douglas.. That day is considered as one of the biggest bothered and agitated one in the history of boxing. Tyson confessed that he smoked pot to build up to that fight. He also disclosed that he took marijuana just before he went out on the ring on the day of fight against Anderw Golota.(All Images : AFP) -
In 1991 Diego Maradona - who is an Argentine soccer star, former national coach as well as a manager - was tested positive for cocaine and was suspended from the Italian league for 15 months in 1991. In 1994 too, he failed another test at the World Cup and was sent home after testing positive for ephedrine.

Michael Phelps who is the most decorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 22 medals was once captured smoking marijuana at a party in 2009, which was exactly a year after he won 8 Gold medals at the Beijing Olympics.. He was consequentially suspended for 3 months after he asked for forgiveness for his dishonourable behaviour. The American swimmer made a public apology stating that he was engaged in a behaviour which was dreadful and demonstrated bad judgement.

Cricketer's too cannot escape the web of drug scandals. Be it Ian Botham or Wasim Akram or Waqar Younis. They have been convicted of consuming recreational drugs. Botham was banned for 3 months once he confessed that he smoked marijuana during England's tour to New Zealand in 1983. On the other hand both the Pakistani cricketers were spotted smoking cannabis on a beach in Grenada during Pakistan's tour of the West Indies in 1993.
