Kolkata Knight Riders' 46-run win over Pune Warriors

  • Playing his first game this season, off-spinning all-rounder from Jammu and Kashmir, Pune's Perzez Rasool went over the moon after dismissing Jacques Kallis cheaply. (BCCI Image)
  • Pune bowlers got them back in the contest as Mitchell Marsh removed the dangerous duo of Gambhir and Eoin Morgan, leaving Kolkata 90 for 4 and short of momentum going into the business end of the innings. (BCCI Image)
  • But Ryan ten Doeschate gave the Kolkata innings the impetus it needed with a 21-ball 31 that included three fours and a six. Dutchman Ten Doeschate was playing his first game this IPL season. (BCCI image)
  • Kolkata ended their innings on a high thanks to late cameos by Rajat Bhatia (5-ball 13*) and Manoj Tiwary (10-ball 15*). KKR registered 56 runs in the last five over to reach just about a par score on Thursday. (BCCI image)
  • The Pune chase took a controversial turn when Jacques Kallis' appeal to run out Aaron Finch at the non-striker's end was adjudged as not-out by the third umpire. Kallis had claimed that he had managed to get some part of his foot onto the ball, but the replays did not clearly reflect that. Kallis had a heated argument with the on-field umpire Sudhir Asnani once the final decision was given. (BCCI image)
  • After failing to get Aaron Finch (5) run out, Kallis cleaned bowled him a few balls later, making sure Kolkata snapped up the Pune skipper and prime batsman cheaply. (BCCI image)
  • Yuvraj Singh's poor run of form continued as he was dismissed for 1 by Laxmipathy Balaji. Yuvraj's wicket dented the Pune's chase of 153 big time! (BCCI image)
