The film is directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya.
Kochadaiyaan is the first Indian film which has been made with performance capture technology, used in films such as Avatar and The Adventures of Tintin.
Rajinikanth plays a warrior in this sci-fi film. He will be seen with bulging biceps and six-pack abs.
Soundarya said that her father has not played a warrior ever in his illustrious career. She has tried to give him a never-seen-before look in the movie.
Music maestro AR Rahman says the story emerged from Rajinikanth's sensibilities and is excited about this project.
Rehman also said that the movie Kochadaiyaan is a notch above other films.
