NDTV Opinion Poll: Narendra Modi on stronger ground in Gujarat

Narendra Modi, the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, is on stronger ground than ever in his home state, according to NDTV's opinion poll, which shows his party getting 22 of Gujarat's 26 parliamentary seats.

That's  a gain of seven for the BJP since the last national election in 2009.

Mr Modi is in his fourth term as Chief Minister of Gujarat.  An array of opinion polls show him as the front-runner for the country's top job with the BJP expected to win the maximum seats, though it could fall short of a majority.

The Congress is down to four seats, in this election, according to NDTV's forecast  -that's a loss of seven seats since the 2009 national election.
