12-year-old hitman arrested in Mexico

New York: A 12-year-old boy, suspected of being a hitman for a drug cartel in Mexico, has been arrested, a media report said.

In fact, the arrested youngster could be the sadistic El Ponchis, alias "The Cloak", who have been working as a paid executioner and gunman, British newspaper 'The Sun' quoted top Mexican officials as saying.

And, a second child is now being hunted by the Mexican police, according to attorney general of central Morelos state Pedro Luis Benitez. Ponchis is said to have tortured and murdered dozens of enemies of his cocaine cartel. And, his trademark involves cutting the victims' throats so violently that their heads are left hanging by a thread. He is said to work with his sisters, who help with body disposal.

Grisly Internet videos show him boasting that his gang is paid 1,900 pounds per murder by drug barons whose gangland wars kill 50 people a day in Mexico.

Benitez suggested the arrested boy and the child being hunted were still young enough to play with toy guns. "It's easy to give them a firearm, making it appear a plastic weapon and that it is a game," he told a local radio station.
