PM Modi Indulging in PR Stunts, No Work Done, Says Rahul Gandhi

New: On a day Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted about the success of US President Barack Obama's visit, he was accused by Rahul Gandhi of "doing PR" and little else since coming to power last year.

Making a belated entry into the Congress campaign for the February 7 assembly polls, Mr Gandhi said, "Since May, the NDA government is at the Centre and the Prime Minister is busy doing PR. The PM is indulging in PR stunts. There hasn't been a single concrete result and people are asking, when will the talk stop and work begin?"

He accused the Modi government of "favouring a few industrialists" and ignoring the poor.

"The Congress will return to power because it is the only party that stands for the poor," asserted Mr Gandhi, listing out his party's three big promises - cheaper power and water, regularizing contract workers and shelter for the poor.

The Congress vice president took out a roadshow in south Delhi today. The party was voted out of power in the last election in December, 2012. After three straight terms, the party placed a distant third after the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party.

PM Modi is expected to address four rallies in the city between January 31 and February 4. The BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi was accused by AAP of using President Obama's visit during an election meeting.

"Today, Obama has come and all of India is flying. Modi has done so much. Obama would not just have come like that," said Ms Bedi said at the meeting.
