Kuala Lumpur: An ethnic Indian along with his two wives has been arrested for allegedly killing his seven-year-old disabled daughter and secretly burying the child.
The man, an unemployed odd-job labourer, has been remanded by a magistrate's court in Aiyer Itam after one of his sons spilled the family's dark secret.
Police said the women aged 31 and 37 were detained in front of a restaurant today. The victim, identified as Priya, was the daughter of the older woman.
"We believe they (the wives) knew about the killing but did not report it. It was only revealed after the man was detained for molesting another daughter," a police official told reporters on Thursday.
"The girl's brother, now 16-years-old, was also present when the father (whose name was not given) buried the body in a 0.9 metre hole at a field in Kampung Pisang. An autopsy report revealed a crack in the skull " he added.
Police detained the man, 41, after his son exposed the crime leading to the discovery of the girl's skeleton in a field two kilometres from his house.
The girl probably died after being allegedly beaten by her father in 2006. The body was exhumed after a close relative accused the father of filicide.
