Yekaterinburg, Russia:

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday did some tough talking as he met Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari for the first time since 26/11.

The two met on the sidelines of a summit in Russia, the first meeting since the 26/11 attacks.

The Prime Minister told Zardari that while he was happy to meet him, his mandate to talk to Pakistan is limited.

"We must get an assurance from Pakistan that its territory will not be used for terror against India," the Prime Minister told Zardari.

The Prime Minister also said that India needed an assurance from Pakistan that its territory would not be used for terror against India.

Speaking about the meeting, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the meeting between the two leaders was positive.
