Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said India has the third largest start-up ecosystem in the world and that they are turning out to be a powerful vehicle to fulfill the dreams of the common Indian youth. Yet, at the same time, we are hearing headlines of start-ups going in for massive layoffs - Cars24, Vedantu Unacademy, Meesho, even some unicorns. Is it time to sound the bugle on an impending funding crisis for start-ups? Is the shine coming off this ecosystem?
