Women Protest Against Assam Government's Crackdown On Child Marriages

A large number of women on Saturday staged a protest in front of a police station in Assam's Dhubri district against the Assam government's action against child marriage. Security personnel were forced to resort to lathi-charge to disperse the women who gathered in front of the Tamarhat police station in Dhubri district to stage a protest. The women demanded the release of their respective husbands and sons who were arrested by police in connection with cases related to child marriage.
