Why India's Political Class Is Scrambling For The Gen Z Vote
Gen Z appeasement has become the flavour of India's political season. From PM Modi's Instagram-ready videos to Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi's youth-focused outreach and Mohan Bhagwat's viral "clock it" gesture, political leaders across the spectrum are scrambling to catch the Gen Z train. But are they solving the wrong problem? Gen Z is not one homogeneous bloc with a neat political manifesto. What young Indians may actually be asking for is much simpler: don't patronise us, don't manufacture relatability, and don't lecture us. Listen, pay attention and take our concerns seriously. The rules of political engagement have changed - and Gen Z may not need politicians to speak its language. It needs them to hear it.
