Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian pilot injured during the Flydubai cockpit incident, is an experienced commercial aviator with more than 13 years of flying experience. A former SpiceJet captain, he joined Flydubai in 2022 as a Direct Entry Captain and has logged nearly 9,750 flying hours, including more than 6,400 hours as Pilot-in-Command.
