Police in West Bengal's Malda warned of strict action after a Hindu organisation helds prayers outside Adina Mosque on Sunday. The group had previously announced to install a Shivling inside the premises of ASI-protected mosque. The Hindu group has claimed that the 14th-century mosque was built over the ancient Adinath Temple, while police have warned of strict action, saying the protected monument falls under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Security has been tightened to prevent any communal flare-up.
